Overview

In addition to ukiyo-e, the Aoki Collection which is at the core of our museum’s collection is also composed of works by artists such as Kawamura Kiyoo (1852-1934) and Kubota Beisen (1852-1906), whose modern era paintings born out of the new age also preserve the vestiges of the Edo Period. In this exhibition, we are pleased to introduce the little known hand-drawn artwork and paintings of Beisen, and the modern era works of Yoshida Hiroshi and Tokuriki Tomikichiro.
